What: Annual event returns for eight-day run
When: 2 p.m.-1 a.m. Saturday, 1-11 p.m. Sunday, 5-11 p.m. Monday-Oct. 27, 2 p.m.-1 a.m. Oct. 28, 1 p.m.-midnight Oct. 29
Where: Alachua County Fairgrounds, 2900 NE 39th Ave.
Cost: $5, free for ages 12 and under with paid adult; game wristbands are $15 advance, $20 at the gate

Visitors can sample fresh cane syrup and homemade biscuits, experience live folk music, farm animals and much more!

In 1854 the Hailes moved their family from Camden, South Carolina to Gainesville, Florida where they established a 1,500-acre Sea Island cotton plantation they named Kanapaha. Completed in 1856 by enslaved craftsmen, the 6,200 sq foot manse is one of the few remaining antebellum homes in North Central Florida.
