Thomas Center Paint Out
Today, Friday, Mar 9 10:00am to 4:00pm at Matheson Museum.
The 3rd annual Thomas Center Paint Out will feature 18 local artists creating paintings live within the public art venue. Fri Mar 9, 10 am – 4 pm in the gardens of the Matheson Museum. Sat, Mar 10, 10 – 4 pm in the gardens of the Thomas Center. Paintings for sale each day at the garden exhibits and a portion of the proceeds from sales will benefit the Matheson Museum and the Thomas Center Associates.

Cruisin’ the Fossil Freeway

at Florida Museum of Natural History
Presented by the Toomey Foundation for the Natural Sciences. This exhibit combines some of the Florida Museum’s paleontology specimens and the fossil-inspired artwork of celebrated artist Ray Troll to explore questions about evolution, extinction and early life on Earth. Troll’s whimsical illustrations of imagined scenes from prehistoric times help bring to life real fossils.

Region 4: Transformation Through Imagination

at The Thomas Center: Thomas Center Mezzanine Gallery.
The City’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs announces its hosting of an innovative and powerful new art exhibition organized by the Superfund Art Project. The exhibition opens at the Thomas Center’s Main Gallery March 2 and runs through April 28. The Exhibition features works by eighteen artists that seek to transform the reality of the local Cabot/Koppers EPA Superfund site into images that convey the history, the science and the emotions of living with a superfund site.

North Central Florida Home Show

Join us March 10th and 11th for the 13th annual North Central Florida Home Show at the O’Connell Center, presented by the Builders Association of North Central Florida and The Gainesville Sun. This year’s show will feature products and services related to home improvement, home buying, gardening, decorating and more. Love this show!!

Invisible Children UF Presents: Kony 2012
Wednesday, Mar 14 6:30pm at University of Florida.
The University of Florida chapter of Invisible Children is premiering the documentary Kony 2012, presented by the Invisible Children Roadies in McCarty A G186. This documentary and the accompanying campaign aim to publicize Joseph Kony and his crimes to encourage public demand for his arrest and permanently end Africa’s longest running conflict.
