Moonlight Walk Saturday, May 5 7:00pm to 11:00pm at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens, Gainesville.
Kanapaha’s Moonlight Walk is a magical experience where there will be twinkle lights, lanterns, and approximately 1500 luminaries along a 1.25 mile walkway. There will also be live entertainment (lost safari drummers), food, and refreshments. The astronomy club will be out with telescopes to view the cosmos.

This unique exhibit showcases objects from the Museum’s collection through photographs captured with an advanced imaging system that combines a high-resolution microscope and 21 megapixel digital camera. The camera is being used to digitally catalog the Museum’s collections, allowing people around the world to view the specimens and artifacts in a virtual world.

Experience the works of 16 local artists created during two days of plein air (from the French term for “open air”) painting in the enchanting gardens of the historic Thomas Center and Matheson Museum. Plein air painting is one of the most difficult styles of painting. It challenges artists to capture what they see in front of them, as well the light, the atmosphere and the feeling of the fleeting moment in which they work.

Summit E.T. Series Saturday, May 5 11:00am at Gainesville Raceway, Gainesville.
The NHRA Summit Racing Series features a bracket racing format that allows drivers in many types of vehicles, including dragsters, roadsters, sedans, and coupes, to compete on an equal basis against each other. In addition to three categories of competition for cars, a motorcycle category is featured.
