Perspectives Art Show and Reception Saturday, May 26 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Hippodrome Theatre, Gainesville.
The Florida High School/High Tech program, through the Center for Independent Living of North Central Florida, is hosting the PERSPECIVES ART SHOW AND RECEPTION to showcase local High School/High Tech students with disabilities and their works of art, as well as to increase awareness about the HS/HT program and Center for Independent Living in Alachua County. This is a great show!!

Depth of Field: Museum Specimens Up Close Saturday, May 26 10:00am to 5:00p at Florida Museum of Natural History.
This unique exhibit showcases objects from the Museum’s collection through photographs captured with an advanced imaging system that combines a high-resolution microscope and 21 megapixel digital camera. The camera is being used to digitally catalog the Museum’s collections, allowing people around the world to view the specimens and artifacts in a virtual world. Woo hoo I love the photograph shows at the Museum. Don’t miss it!!

Seeing Florida Saturday, May 26 10:00am to 5:00pm at Thornebrook Gallery, Gainesville.
“Seeing Florida” a showing of the paintings and photography of Jeff Ripple will open with a reception Friday May 25th from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. We will have music by Eric Diamond and refreshments will be served.
The show will run May 26th through June 9th.

Tango Pavadita – Traditional Argentine Tango milonga Saturday, May 26 9:00pm at Tango Pavadita, Gainesville.
Practica music and set-up at 8:00 p.m. with DJ: Dubravko Kakarigi.
Milonga starts at 9:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m. General Admission: $10. Students: $5
Location: on the corner of N.W. 3rd Street and University Ave. on the second floor of the old Firestone Building.
Free parking in the ground floor portico and on side streets like 3rd Street which is one-way going south.

Memorial Mile Saturday, May 26 7:00am to 11:59pm at Albert “Ray” Massey West Side Park, Gainesville.
Veterans for Peace will be displaying more than 6,400 tombstones from dawn on May 26 through dusk on Memorial Day as part of the sixth annual Memorial Mile to remember those who have died in the wars in Afghanistan since 2001 and in Iraq since 2003.
Memorial Mile will line the street along Eighth Avenue just east of 34th Street.
