Sea Turtle Scavenger Hunt Saturday, June 16 12:00pm to 4:00pm @ Florida Museum of Natural History.
Celebrate World Sea Turtle Day with Sea Turtle Conservancy (STC) with an interactive scavenger hunt! Children and families are invited to create sea turtle crafts, meet turtle experts and participate in a museum-wide scavenger hunt for a chance to win a sea turtle plush toy. Join us from 2-3 pm for an opportunity to meet sea turtle experts from STC and the Archie Carr Center for Sea Turtle Research at the University of Florida.

The Summer Vegan Feast Saturday, June 16 7:00pm at Civic Media Center.
Summer is here! The Civic Media Center invites you to join us for Summer Vegan Feast. Co-hosted by the Student Animal Alliance and Gainesville Food Not Bombs, this fundraising event for the center will give vegetarians, vegans and others an opportunity to enjoy a non-meat-based meal together. The dinner will also be a great opportunity to meet other like-minded individual and exchange recipes. This sounds yummy!!

Early Maya City by the Sea: Daily Life and Ritual at Cerros, Belize June 15 10:00am to 5:00pm

The ancient Maya lived amid a changing environment and social world for nearly 2,000 years (350 B.C.-A.D. 1550). This exhibit features artifacts from Maya homes and monumental constructions at the Cerros site in Belize, Central America. View 3-D maps showing where the artifacts were found, and learn about rituals and daily activities in this rich coastal environment, located at the end of a riverine exchange network leading into Corozal Bay in Belize.

Auditions for Drawer Boy by Michael Healy, directed by Mark Woollett. Set in rural Canada. Characters are two farmers in the their 50s and 60s and a male college student who “interviews” them to get their “story.”

Wester Joseph’s Stereo VuduFriday, June 15 8:00pm to 10:00pm at Bo Diddley Community Plaza.
Wester Joseph was born in Miami, Florida to Haitian immigrants. He was given his first guitar at the age of 15 and has had a love affair for playing ever since. Stereo Vudu is the inspiration of Wester Joseph. Melding rock, soul, blues, alternative.
