Tour de Swamp First Friday

Friday, Mar 1 5:00pm to 10:00pm Downtown Gainesville

This bicycling-themed event will feature: a chance for pre-registered participants to partake in a mini-bicycle race around downtown Gainesville with a chance to win a new bike and other various prizes; a bicycle safety inspection tent set up by Gator Cycle; and additional discounts for those who opt to bike to the event opposed to taking a car.

30th Anniversary Gala. Gainesville Chamber Orchestra.

Friday, Mar 1 7:30pm to 9:00pm Santa Fe College Fine Arts Hall

The Orchestra’s program will include music from Richard Strauss’s “Don Juan,” Peter Tchaikovsky‘s “1812 Overture,” Leonard Bernstein’s “West Side Story,” and Wolfgang Mozart’s “Concerto #3 for Horn and Orchestra,” with guest soloist Aaron Brask.

Eleanor Blair will join the Orchestra on stage to paint a scene from the Santa Fe College campus, followed by an auction of the painting. A great evening!
