Friday March 29 11 to 5: 11th ANNUAL ALACHUA SPRING FESTIVAL. Great leisurely Sunday afternoon for all ages. 200 charming vendors, open shops and restaurants, live music on 2 stages all afternoon. Kids activities, many free provided by local non-profits. Fun food and friendly folks. This is a blast!!

Gainesville Ecotours Nature Photography Workshop Hike

Saturday, Mar 30 8:00am to 12:00pm Paynes Prairie – La Chua Trail Gainesville. John Reed Photography will teach camera use, photography, outdoor photography, and help with a nice shot to take home, all in a field based setting.

All camera types are welcome. Bring good walking or hiking shoes, water, snacks if needed, and possibly insect repellent.
Participants are responsible for the $2 Paynes Prairie entrance fee.

Paws on Parole ‘outing’ at Newberry Animal Hospital 39th Ave

Looking for your next great pet ‘love of your life’? Come meet the ‘Paws’ dogs! ‘Paws on Parole’ and ‘Paws on Parole Unleashed’ are community outreach programs that pairs adoptable dogs from Alachua County Animal Services with inmates from the Florida Dept. of Corrections and the Alachua County Sheriffs Dept of the Jail. The dogs live with and are trained by the inmates for 8 weeks and learn the basic skills necessary to pass the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen test. Also tour Newberry Animal Hospital! What a great event!!

Tower Road Library Quilt Display

Saturday, Mar 30 9:30am Tower Road Branch, Alachua County Library Gainesville, FL

Members of Quilters of Alachua County Day Guild have hung a display of 15 representative quilts, including five community service quilts, on the walls of the Tower Road Branch Library. They’ll remain on display through Monday, April 1st. Library hours are Monday – Thursday 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
