A unique collaboration between classical pianist Simone Dinnerstein and Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Tift Merritt. The two musicians unite the classical, folk and rock worlds, exploring common terrain and uncovering new musical landscapes. Night features a set of new songs written especially for the duo by artists including Brad Mehldau, Patty Griffin and Philip Lasser and solo performances – Merritt performing her own songs, and Dinnerstein playing some of her favorite selections!! A great treat!!

First annual Gainesville Jest for Laughs! Masquerade Party

Pride Community Center of North Central Florida, The Alachua County Branch of the NAACP and the Alachua County Coalition for the Homeless and Hungry are partnering to host this kickoff event!
This annual Masquerade Party will celebrate Gainesville and raise money for these three social justice organizations. Party admission, valet parking, door prizes, music by Jazz Bandits, a contest with prizes for the best costumes, hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. A great cause!!!

Hosted by PHHP’s Department of Environmental and Global Health. Free and open to the public.

Blues Concert Benefitting Friends of the Crisis Center to Be Held April 7 at the Dirty Bar

The North Central Florida Blues Society will hold a benefit concert on Sunday, April 7 with proceeds supporting the Friends of the Crisis Center. The bands are:    Little Mike & the Tornadoes, The Pete Karnes Blues Band, The 6th Street Rhythm & Blues Review, Big Time Juke & the Joints, The Butch Wise Band, The R. Mutt Blues Band, and  Root Redemption. A great way to start the week!!!
