Drool & Ghoul Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest & Pool Party

This annual event is open to well-behaved dogs each year. The pool and splash pad will be open to dogs, and there will be a costume contest, doggie ice cream (1 per dog with admission), photos with your pet(s) and great local pet-business vendors! To enter your dog in the contest, please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the event.Donations at this event benefit the Alachua County Humane Society and other local animal organizations. Join or Watch the Pride Parade– Preceding the Festival is the Annual Pride Parade which steps off at 12:00pm at 7th St. and W University Ave; then proceeds down University Ave to the downtown Community Plaza. Celebrate Your PRIDE at the Festival–The Festival, which is co-sponsored by the City of Gainesville Dept of Cultural Affairs, will have dozens of local musical acts and vendors lining the plaza from 1 to 9pm. A “Kids Space” will also be available. The event is free and open to the public.

Open to ages 9 and up. This class is a basic introduction to the world of holography, and shows you how a light beam behaves in the physical world. Students will learn firsthand in our dark room, as we watch and create holographic images on glass plates. Discover the early years of holography and how science fiction movies helped transform our ideas about holograms. The future is now! This sounds so cool!!!

Professional Swing Dancer Demery Strickland will be joining us to teach a West Coast Swing Workshop. Help us raise funds for the UF Center for Autism & Related Disabilities aka C.A.R.D. Last year we raised $1200, let’s see if we can double it this year!
DJ Josh Angel will spinning the MP3’s, so expect a huge variety of the best West Coast Swing dancing tunes – Classic Rock, Funk, Swingin’ Blues, Soul,…

Sun Country Sports Center is hosting their annual benefit Halloween Howl-A-Palooza at our West location. It’s an afternoon of play complete with carnival games, bounce houses, rock climbing, KidQuest indoor playground and haunted houses. Sun Country Dance Theatre will present numerous performances and outside will be Sun Country’s Gym Bus, hay rides and train rides, sno-cones and pizza. In lieu of candy, goody bags and prizes will be awarded. Child-friendly costumes are welcome and encouraged. WOOOOO HOOOO or should I say BOOOOOOO!!!

UF Heal the World: 4TH Annual “Run for the World 5K”

Soccer for All! Sunday, Oct 27 5:00 to 7:00pm Westside Park

This free program is offered through a partnership with the non-profit corporation Noah’s Endeavor, Inc., for children with special physical and developmental needs. It teaches children to be comfortable on the field while they have fun and learn important safety skills. The program is located at Westside Park, ball field 3.
