The UF Swim & Dive team welcomes the Georgia Bulldogs to Gainesville in the Gators first home meet of the season. The UGA Women’s Swim & Dive team is coming off a NCAA Championship in the 2012-2013 season.   Location: Pool  GOOOOOOO GATORS!!!!!!

“Free Fridays” Concert Series GramFest Friday, Nov 1 8:00 to 10:00pm

Featuring some of the best local and regional musicians, The “Free Fridays” concerts will open on April 5 and play each Friday from 8 to 10 p.m. through November 8 for a total of 32 weekly concerts. Since the Plaza’s dedication in 1976, all ages have brought their blankets and lawn chairs into our beautiful downtown amphitheater and joined in the fun under the stars. Love this it is a blast!!!

Sweetwater Park Clean Up Saturday, Nov 2 10:00 to 12:00noon

Join the Matheson Museum for the Annual Park Clean Up. Help us remove Spanish moss from trees, pick-up air potatoes, as well as remove vines from plants and shrubs.Sweetwater Park offers an interdisciplinary study of Alachua County both natural and human history. The Sweetwater Park is an open-air museum, with an historic home and a timeline of Alachua County.

Second opportunity to hear Death Row Exonerees: Gainesville Citizens for Alternatives to the Death Penalty (GCADP) is hosting Seth Penlaver and Herman Lindsey . These men were wrongfully convicted and sentenced to death and spent 18 and 3 years, respectively, on death row in Florida before proving their innocence and gaining release. The public is invited to come hear their stories.

A shocking documentary about the struggle of the people of Jeju Island, S. Korea. Set in the context of the American presence in Korea after World War II, the film reveals horrible atrocities at the hands of the U.S. Military Government of Korea.Using previously secret and classified photos, film and documents, this is the first English-language documentary about the struggle of the brave people of Gangjeong Village who are opposing the military advance of the United States.
