Gainesville Woman’s Club Warm Clothing Drive

Today 10:00am  Belk at The Oaks Mall

The Gainesville Woman’s Club and its partner Belk in the Oaks Mall are collecting as much warm clothing for children and adults as possible and then making the clothing available to area shelters for distribution to those in need. The Gainesville Woman’s Club will have a collection box at the north entrance.


The Annual Cane Boil & FiddleFest Saturday, Nov 30 9 to 4:00pm

The Longleaf Pine Youth Fiddle contest takes place at Morningside Nature Center during the Cane Boil, which combines the traditions of giving thanks and fall harvest with live Southern fiddle and string band music. Help preserve that tradition and experience the making and bottling of sugar cane syrup, live roots music, and living history interpreters bringing to life a day on an 1870’s Florida farm.

Grove Street Festival Saturday, Nov 30 4:00 to 6:00pm

A grassroots celebration that celebrates its 15th Anniversary with dance/music/poetry at Dreamers Garden, the Grove Street Neighborhood Community Garden, corner of NW 10th Avenue and 4th Street, Gainesville, Florida. All are welcome!!!!

St. Andrew’s Day Evensong  Sunday, Dec 1 5:00 to 6:30pm

The annual St. Andrew’s Day Evensong, a Gainesville favorite, features the Holy Trinity Choir, bagpipers, and Scottish singing and dancing. A reception (wine and hors d’oeuvres) follows the service.img_14325485
